Sled Dog Tours!

Experience the real Alaska and mush with a team of highly trained husky sled dog athletes along the National Historic Iditarod Trail.

The length of our exciting tour runs between 1 and 1-1/2 hours. The adventure includes around 6 miles of dog mushing on the National Historic Iditarod Trail. You and your family will have the opportunity to visit and cuddle with our youngest puppies (born in mid-December of 2018) that may someday become race champions. You will also get to enjoy a tour of the historic Knik Museum and Mushers Hall of Fame. The museum is adjacent to our kennel at around mile 13.5 of Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla, Alaska. (Visit the museum’s website at Custom dog tours are also available upon request.

The sled dogs who will take you on this unique tour are from Ray Redington Jr.’s 2018 4th place Iditarod team. Our dogs are exceptionally friendly and love attention from visitors.

The Redington family holds a storied place in Alaska’s mushing history, particularly in the Knik area. Ray’s grandfather, Joe Redington Sr. was a founder of the infamous Iditarod sled dog race which crosses some of the most beautiful and rugged country in Alaska. Ray Jr. is a 17-time Iditarod finisher, with 15 top-20 finishes, 6 top-10 finishes, with his best finish in 4th place in the 2018 Iditarod. All of the Redington family members combined have started an astonishing 64 Iditarod races. Mushing is a Redington family tradition.

Redington Kennels is located in an outlying area of Wasilla, about an hour’s drive from Anchorage and conveniently located within 10 miles of Iditarod Headquarters which is another great destination for visitors.

Take this opportunity to create priceless memories for your family while fulfilling the dream of a lifetime. Mushing in Alaska with a team of seasoned Iditarod veteran sled dogs on the historic Iditarod trail is a bucket list item to cherish.
